its only taken 4 yrs for me to be a koi mum i was starting to think my males where gay
but this year i havent shaded my pond so got the pond temp up and bobs your uncle i got babies
mine a weeny babies but they only hatched a few weeks ago

Hey I was thinking about building a koi pond. My neighbors have some koi that they don't want anymore because they want a hot tub lol. The koi are really big. probably a foot and a half long. 2 gold ones and a black, I thyink they are butterfly koi, but if they spawned, do koi also eat their own fry? Now I just have to build it.....

yes they will eat their own fry
if the koi are as big as your saying then you will need a big deep pond and filter system to cope with their waste

Yes I know They are in a tiny little pond right now. Probably 4 ft across 1 ft deep. VERY tiny. And they also have a large pleco in with them. So Gotta build a pretty big pond for these guys.
