Egg Crate

Any body know where i can get Egg Crate from in the UK, my LFS is trying to charge me an arm and a leg for some.

Im guessing you dont mean the cardboard ones

If you can get hold of some plastic milk crates or bread crates that might help you usally see them behind shops and/or bakerys ask them for a broken one you maybe able to use a side off it.

Im sorry about any confusion with my link. The purpose of it was to make the point that egg crate could be purchased for less at home improvement stores rather than a LFS.

I have heard that people have used egg crate under their substrate to distribute wieght (i.e. excessive weight in one spot or sharp corners from rocks that might crack the glass).

That's a cool idea. I've never thought of using it for that reason since I keep mostly small fish.

Have searched high and low here in the UK been to all types of DIY and Hardware and Lighting stores but have had no joy so far.

How much does you LFS sell it for? you can usually get it from lighting shops have you tried some of the larger stores that make lights for offices etc?

Last time i bought some he charged me £35 for half what i need for this project.
And i am reluctant to part with that amount of cash.

The LFS I work for usually sells it for under £15 I think per 4'x2' sheet. Have you tried other LFS? try marine only shops etc.
