First place at State 4-H horse show!! WHOOEE!!
I have a (I think) Eclipse system six (but it was sold to me as a five, oh well) that I want to retrofit into a compact flourescent. I heard they have kits for 13 watt compact flourescents.
The bulb it has in it now is a brand new (I just replaced it) 12" T5 8 watt 5500K flourescent (it comes with it), and my plants are doing well, but I think they could do better.
Anyhow, Is there any such kit existing? And how do I go about getting it? Can anyone give me a link or something?
Thanks!!! :)

Yeah, whatever you do won't look right, because the filtration is built into the hood. So you could only replace the light fixture portion.

There was a company that sold retrofits for Eclipse but they went under.

The only thing I can think of is to build a small hood for the fixture and buy the actual fixture from ahsupply.com or innovativelight.com

I've decided to go with lowlight plants and diy Co2. My next tank will be shallow and long and I'll buy it piece by piece so I can have my choice of bits. If my landlord doesn't kick me out for the one I have already! lol

Yeah, I heard about that company. It's too bad, it would have been really useful.
:/
My plants are doing OK now, they'd do better if I had more light. That's ok, I'll do some more low-light plants. :)
Thanks for replying!
