My craft store was having an AWESOME .... as in better than wholesale ... sale on their glassware today. So I bought what I thought were some 1 gal fish bowls and then some 1/2 gallon bowls. I was going to keep the 1/2's for medicating, isolation, emergency etc...

ANYWAY ... my point ... I'm getting there ...
Turns out I suck at guessing size and they are actually 2 gallon and 1 gallon bowls :hyper:
I also got some silk plants ... didnt someone on here use craft store silks to make aquarium decor? if so PM me

AND ... my point ... still getting there
So I'd like to fix the 2 gal bowls up into betta kits with some TFF approved basic betta care sheets, a pack of gravel/marbles/whatever and a silk plant. I also have a pile of water conditioner packs so I could include one, and I'm going to silicone attach the bowl to a wooden base. I also got some of those battery powered push lights that I'm trying to figure out how to make a lid an attach.
Materials cost for this venture was less than $10 per kit ... I'm thinking I could get at least $25(+s&h) per bowl on ebay, or maybe even sell locally.
If we as responsible betta owners start putting decent sized bowls out there with info on minimum size .... who knows ... it could catch on
and I'm bored and need a summer project.
I will post a pic here as soon as I get one made.

SOOOOO what does everyone think????
Can yall give me some good theme ideas??? My sister suggested I put a little horse jump in one like its a show-jumping-betta hee hee I though that was cute.

What a good idea. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun doing it. Goodluck, and keep us updated.

This is a really cool endeavor. I approve wholeheartedly!

If you need a care sheet, PM me your e-mail address. I have one all typed out, just sitting on my hard drive.

Kiarra - Is there any way I can get a copy of one of those, I have been complaining and complaining at my local wal-mart for ages, and nothing is changing so maybe I will leave a copy here and there everytime i go, so they get the clue. my email addy is riogal_11@yahoo.com Thank you sooo much!

if you whould put a horse jump in one tell me casue i will buy it cause i do jumping with my horses lmao and to have a little betta jumper tooo cute! keep me posted!

I think it's a GREAT idea.

I'm not positive about the craft flowers, just because of the dyes they use might be harmful.

But the idea here is GREAT.
You could maybe even take special orders for colors and such.

How fun!!

B) OOh update us when you start making them, I jump horses ocasionally (when I have a ride to the barn) too and might be interested in one.

Unfortunatly, I have nrither horses nore fish. :-( But I do ride when I have a ride and I used to shareboard. I am getting my first betta after my rabbit show next weekend, I'm so exited! Dogs are my first and formost obsession. :fun:

YAY ... so I have a meeting tomorrow but the prototype will be posted sunday probly... Horse theme first ... since everyone likes so much ;)

thanks all!

Oo! I showjump horses and have a betta obsession. In fact, I have a showjumping show this weekend. I would look into buying one of those cute little bowls for a showjumping betta as well.

OK I'm an awful photographer so these are not good

So what do y'all think?
