hi, i feed my fish earthworms 2x per week. the fish i have are:

4 x Corydoras trilineatus
12 x Kuhli loach
20 x Copper harlequin
5 x Harlequin rasbora
5 x Siamese Algae Eater
3 x Serpae Tetra
3 x Cardinal Tetra
4 x Rummynose Tetra.
2 x Kribensis
3 Otocinclus affinis

is this ok for them? i also feed flake food, 1 tablet, and 1 algae wafer daily.

cheers :good:

best food you can give them
full of protein
really colours them up and their growth rate will speed up
just make sure there is no chemicals sprayed on the earth where you dig them up(if you are getting them from the garden)just hold them at one end and cut with a scissors into pieces :good: :good:

thanks, there are no chemicals where i get them from, so they should be fine. would it be ok to feed more than 2 x per week, or would that be to much fat for them?

cheers :good:

im pleased i read this post... i never realised you could feed them normal earth worms... our front lawn is full of them after a sprinkle of rain..

Will they be ok for the fish i have in my sig?

hi, yes i'm sure they'll be fine for your fish. but i doubt the bn will eat them. if the angels are quite big, then they will probably take them whole, my kribs suck on them for ages. but for the harlequins and danios they will prefer them chopped smaller. with the bigger worms i squeeze the guts out, but with the little ones i don't bother.

cheers :good:

it will be fine to feed them 2-3 worms a week
you will see the difference in your fish from doing so
they will become more colourful, lively and less aggresive
but make sure you mix up there diet and feed them flake also
and dont forget a bit of veg too :good:

be sure to cut the worms in to pieces if your fish a small
and some cuecumber for your bn pleco

hi, so i can give them worms 3 x per week? they get about 1 worm each per feed.

cheers :good:

as long as the worms are not to big it should be fine
you can allways cut back a bit if your fish are producing to much waste where then you will be doing alot more water changes

rgds

ok cheers.. i normally give them shelled peas aswell to keep them regular

Jumping in on this thred but this is new to me, do you need to wash them first? squeeze out the dirt from inside them? or is it just a case of pick the worm up and dump them in the tank?

hi, i wash them in a tub of water, then squeeze the guts out by sliding my finger and thumb down the length of them. if they are really tiny, i just put them in. chop them up after you've prepared them if you have little fish.

hope that helps :good:

cool, we have a big garden so will have a go at getting some and see how the fish take to them never thought of feeding them to tropicals only ever thought they would be fed to pond fish
