One of my discus is in a bad way, looks like its got cloudy eye or whatever its called, lost all its colour and is swimming weird. Im getting some melafix tomorrow, but all I have now is Anti fungus & fin rot which I have put in. Will this be any good?

is it infectious to other fish?

What are your water parameters right now?

Ammonia , nitrite, nirate, ph , temp

When was the last time you changed water?

hmm tough one. think id also try the melafix.. but what you really need to do is work out the actual cause rather than a quick fix. this type of thing is 95% related to bad water conditions. and especially with a delicate fish like a discus even more likely. can i ask your water change routine? high water changes in a tank like this to keep pristine water are essential then missing one or two with a delicate balance on your bacteria could be all thats needed to bring this on. (although other forum members dispute this so ultimatly you'll have to form your own opinion) it shouldn't be infectious but what effects one fish could effect them all seeing as they are all in the same water

Everything but nitrates were fine, nitrates were yellowish/orange, did around 40% water change yesterday. I change around 30% every 5 days, tank is 52 gals and I run the Juwel internal filter and an external filter which is suitable for 150 gals so water quality is good.

Cloudy eyes are a sign of a Bad diet and poor water quilaty for discus

also it could have been blinded? does it swim different?

What other fish have you got in there and how old is the discus? I know from experience that a female can attack a male when they are close to breeding and a friend of mine had a female which attacked the males eyes and both the eyes looked like he had popeye. a little salt in the water sorted the problem out for him.
