 Help, I checked on my dwarf puffer this morning. He is in a 10g with 9 baby mollies. 7.5 ph, 80 degree water with 2tsp of salt. He was doing fine yesterday, today his anus is hanging out. What does this mean, and what should I do? He is acting like he may not make it, not swimming well and hitting the bottom a lot. He is not aggressive towards the other fish and has been eating well.

are you sure he isnt just constipated. Sometimes when fish eat something that deems itself indigestible, it sort of "hangs" out before the whole thing has passed. Is your puffer eating still? What do you feed it? Maybe try feeding brine shrimp since they work as a sort of roughage.

Many intestinal disorders are a sign of parasite activity. How is he doing as far as eating and passing food???

Camallanus may be present, an internal parasitic worm. However, this usually looks like bloodworm sticking out it's backside. If it is a gut problem I cannot really think of anything that can be done. I'm sorry to say that
