dwarf pleco

at the lfs there were what were called dwarf pleco's they were kinda like big pleco's with a brown spotted body what exactly cud the be and how big is dwarf as even half size is too big for my tank

It's probably just a made up name tricking people into thinking they stay small

I have to agree with Dwarfs! Just their fancy way of trying to trick you into buying those plecs, thinking that they will stay small. They probably told you that they would only grow to the size of your tank. That's what the lfs in my home town told me about 5 years ago, and he was a common that grew to be about 16" long. absolutely beautiful giant he was ( ).

i know that common plecs are MASSIVE but the woman seemed to think they were smaler than them but didnt know how much so.

there are actually 'probubly' more small plecs than there are big ones.

MANY (read Loads and loads) stay less than 6"

only one of our plecs will get to 12" - and that will take this particular one MANY years.

All the rest are 6" max - with the chocolate zebs staying an adorable 4 inches
