I’m wanting to do a carpet with dwarf hair grass in my ten gallon. I got some fluval fluorite substrate and I have the Aqueon Clip on light for planted aquarium (800K). Do I NEED to add CO2 to get a carpet? And if so, does anyone know of any kits that are available in the US or on amazon? I know chain stores carry the fluval kit, but I haven’t heard anything about it.

Hair grass is a paiinnnn. Got it carpeting in my 29 w/o CO2, and then it died to algae :(. @Wills has some good CO2 goin on.

You don’t need Co2 for a carpet but you need to pic the right plants. Hair grass is possible but is difficult. Something like Helanthium Tenelum or similar grass like plants are a good option. Marseilea Hirsuta can work too. It is a challenge though and I would recommend planting thick from the start
