driftwood water logging eta

I have 2 pieces of Aqua One azalea root in an old tank in the garden. They've been there about 3 weeks. They took 3 or 4 days to sink, but they're still making the water cloudy. I last change the water on Thursday afternoon. It's just gone slightly cloudy again on Sunday morning. This is a lot better than 3 weeks ago as the water went so cloudy within hours that I couldn't see through the water.

Like HoldenOn, the roots are too big to fit in a pan, so I've been pouring boiling water over them every time I change the water. Some of the reviews on this wood say that they killed fish, but I do wonder if that's because they put it in the tank too soon. That's why I'm waiting until they no longer cloud the water.
I noticed that the water was cloudy, do you recommend I leave it in the bucket till it's completely clear?

That's what I'm doing; the two pieces are too long for a bucket so I'm using an old 25 litre tank. It's in the garden as I didn't trust it not to leak.

But we need the foil for our hats...

No tin foil for me, I use baking paper :)

I love modern material such as PVC, this weekend I finished covering my exterior wood windows with white PVC. No more rotting of wood or painting. With the leftover PVC sheets, I plan on building a sump for my tanks.

If I have any PVC leftover, I will make me hat!

I like that. It's quite durable, but not as reflective. The pros and cons I suppose.

I think it might be done. The bucket is super small, barely big enough for the wood, so it's hard to tell if it's actually tank ready. That being said, if I put it on the top of the water in the bucket, it sinks. I don't want to put it in my tank quite yet though, any suggestions for a place to float test it? Preferably something that a normal human would have lol.
