Hi all,

Well, after my mystery tank crash, and miraculous recovery, I've lost a fair few fish.

I've got one bristlenose left, which 'seems' to be doing well.

I did have 3 bristlenoses, a bulldog plec and a pitbull.

There was an unexplained ammonia spike in the tank (possibly a dead fish), but a huge chain reaction of fish deaths.

The pitbull exhibeted symptoms of whitespot, but all the plecs (except for the survivor) showed fin clamping on the left hand side (when looking at the fishes underbelly on the glass) and vissible redness on that side of the belly. Also a curious stiffening, and bending quite sharply a the tail to the same side.

It looked very much like some form of bacterial infection. (I'm sorry I could not get a pic).

Anyway, now that things seem to have settled down again (2nd whitespot treatment due tomorrow - though no fish now exhibeting any whitespot symptoms), I've been closely observing the remnants.

The survivng bristlenose (3 inches, female) is feeding well, active, and I can't 'see' anything wrong with her, but in my now slightly paranoid mind, i'm not sure if she is showing some slight clamping on the same side, and I've just sen the same tail behaviour too.

If I can, I really want to save this fish, as I feel so terrible about what I've lost already.

Any ideas?
