i thought bettas were warmwater but ive just been told 2 mins ago on another forum that they can be kept in a tank withought heating???

confused :sly:

As long as the water is kept between 70-84 °F (from www.fishindex.com) they will be fine. So if you have your house heating on all the time, or you live somewhere it doesn't get too cold, they will be fine without a heater.

ok.well i found a pic of the tank i have spare its not THE tank just one i found on goolgle!!!will it be ok -_-

They can be kept without a heater but it's not something I would recommend because of fluctuations in tempature and just because they are alive, does not mean they are healthy IMO.

erm well ive decided to use the plastic tank for snails and get my new betta a nice new heated tank ;)

any excuse to buy a new tank is a good one! I wish I could justify things like that to my parents! Only 1 tank for Jennifer :(
