Yeah, when they get them in, there's usually about 115 cups. All you need is an empty 'row' to place them 4 or 5 deep and then start 'rearranging' them. Look at color and tail-shape. It's pretty quick. Cloudy water in a cup usually means death or close-to-death. Good luck!StanTheBetta said:Some people are just lucky I go to petco probably once or twice a week and look through all 30+ bettas they have and I've never seen a non-veil tail. If I had time I'd drive up to petsmart in sterling but thats 2 hours away =\ but they have like 200-300 bettas at any given time. It'd take a long time just to look through them all
It was only the 3rd time I visited this PETCO. It was about 8:30pm and I didn't know their delivery schedule. A lot of times, the staff will "cherry-pick" the bettas. There were about 15 cups left. I thought "Oh great - slim pickins...." But, I still gave it a look. I even passed over him once because he had the normal red color. Then I looked at them all over again since it was only 15 cups. I noticed his tail was short, so I thought it was ripped or cut (they sometimes cut the tails if it's too long to fit into the cup ). Hmmmm... Let's see how bad the cut is. I placed him near a really active turquoise one and, lo and behold, He fanned out evenly - a superdelta! Cool, I'll take it. Only about 2 weeks later I found out he wasn't flaring all the way. I was doing water changes and set him near one of the other veiltails I had at the time. He went nutso. He moved so much I couldn't get a good look. Then he just stopped and displayed - whoa..... A halfmoon.... Never in a million years would I have thought I would obtain one at a petstore price!sscamatt said:i wish my petco has nice betta's like that
