What are peoples feelings on keeping Barbs

I have Neon Tetras and a Male Siamese Fighting fish currently and would like to add cherry and Checkered Barbs (I'm still stocking my tank slowly and have plenty of room yet)

I have heard they can be fin nippers. Is this everyones experience? If they are okay, how big do the 2 types get and how any minimum to keep?

I'd say you just can't pull it off unfortunately, dude. They'll take your Siamese Fighter down, piece-by-piece.

If possible, maybe you should consider a secondary aquarium for Barbs, or you'll be forced to choose between one & the other, sadly.
