German Blue Rams were fixed as a type in Germany before being bred all over the world.
I have it on good authority that the German Blue Ram was never bred all over the world. Developed in Germany at a time when the Singapore Rams were very sick and sales were suffering (because the new German Rams were much healthier). The Singapore farms never imported any, they just decided to call their own Rams German Blue. In Germany the development of the German Blue Ram was discontinued (they were trying to make an all-black Ram but the "German Blue" was as far as they could get). These days the German Blue Ram doesn't exist anymore, or if it does it's very few and far between, and not being commercially bred. They looked different to the Blue Rams of today, with a lot more black on them.
