The fluncs generally very with how good the thermostat is, but I know when I had a heater in, one minute it was warm, the next very cold. Just not worth the hassle really, room temperature works fine :dunno:

Thanks for all your replies.
I haven't tried it but was just wondering, as I saw so many pics of the bettas in bowls with no heaters, but I am not sure where they were based.
Thanks again all x

I put a thermometer in Tiberia's tank a few hours ago... I got about 80F. I'll test it again later, but doen't seem too cold to me :)

well you can probably find a small 25 watt heater... suitable for a small bowl or tank. also, your betta should have at least a minimum of 1 gallon of water.

VIsitherm's are very good and though they can be a bit expensive in the shops, this is probably the best online deal at The Aquarium Shop - especially big value for money on the larger size heaters. Even with postage of £2.50 it's still a good price.

Wouldn't a light act as a heater? In my aquaview, the light seems to keep the water pretty warm. I put my finger in there one day to fish out a pellet, and I was like "wow, this is nice!" :p
