I personally don't name my fish. I don't deal well with death, so it helps me recover better.

But I know there are some interesting names out there!

i name some of my more individual fish. i don't bother with the tetras, too many to tell the difference. i name my mollies (outlaw and big momma) and guppies(tarzan and jane, my only female and leopard spotted male, the other two are awaiting names as i get to know them), my bettas (dante, frankie, two yet to be named still thinking), my puffers (petey and paula) and my gobies (scarface and capone). the panda cories i can't tell apart so theyre just the "the 4 stooges", the spotted cory is just "the spotted cory", my shark is usually just "sharky", the catfish is "catfish", the gouramis are "the little sh*ts" (they have character, have even figured out i have two males and two females, just haven't gotten around to naming them individually yet), the snails are gary and gary #2.

I name Bettas as they have great personality and seem to hang around for quite along time. Have you ever tried to name an individual tetra? My only shrimp has a name aswell because he is one fat angry bu**er and loves to attack anything that unwittingly gets too close to his cave or log. But on the whole I only name a few fish.

My mollies are called Terence and philip although they are female and male :fun:

My Betta (and namesake) is named Stan. He was my first fish and also my favorite. He's a very beautiful fish. He's got a pink and white body with a red fins that fade to blue and purple around the edges and he's very active. The others I haven't had long so I haven't named them yet (if I ever do)

lmao!!

Named all my fish! Sad story :-( Spike and Goliath my feeder goldies had to go back to the fishy store...some lil kid'll save them I know it. :byebye: *crosses fingers*
My pleco is Freckles, my male platy is Bitsy (Had Itsy till Bitsy killed him :grr: ) My female platies are named Stripe and Spot  , My mixed fruit are Eeny, Meeny, and Miney and I still haven't named my male betta.....Maybe Moe, or Sam...His predecessor was "Lives in Bowl"

Most of my fish are called Bernard. It makes it much easier to remember. Especially with the schooling fish who are hard to tell apart. Only the littlest tetra has its own name, who is Little Bernie.

My cories are Mr Brown, Mr Pink and Mr Spot -_-

And my guppies are Maximillian the Lyretail and his wife, Blue Baloo (I don't know why :look: )

As much as my hubby loves his angelfish (10 of them) he hasn't named them. I have two silver dollars and only named the bigger of the two. He's about 4" long and his name is Grandpa. His original name was Hindenburg but gradually it got changed, don't really remember how.

No, I don't name any of my fish as I can never find a name that fits, only 1 of fishes are named. Oscar the fantail and just one of those names that stuck. :)

The first thing my kids ask is " What are we going to name them?" We name the schooling fish as a group. When we got the golden barbs my then 2 yr old named them all meatballs. Now years later and we are down to 1 girl & 1 boy the girl got her own name. We named all of our Albino cories Pebbles because they remind us of some of the pebbles in our tank and are far to hard too keep track of none the less tell apart..

We actually keep a notebook in the fish supply dresser that has all of their names, birthdates, babies etc.

Me too!! All my barbs are called Michael. My cories have got seperate names because I can tell them apart but I don't think I'll do that with the 6 in my coldwater tank as they are all one kind.

I only name some of my favorites. I have 2 corys called Zippety doo and Zippety Da. I named a few of my guppies, but that's about it.

I named my Betta Herbert.

My goal is for my husband to like him so much that he won't be able to resist the 55 gallon I'm planning on getting in the near future. So far so good :D
