Do Live Rock Need Anything?

oh that is good news.

any idea on pics?

Yeah!...Some lovely pieces of LR!.............Especially the first pic! But can't make my mind up weather or not it's coraline or cyano?...........Either way I like!.......Looks like plenty of life on there too! :good:

If you find out what them little green/brown shoots are sticking out the rock then let me know as I have loads!

hopin to find out myself. i cannot wait to get more LR as this load has loads of life and its only 2.8kg

The brownish things look like vermetid snails. Usually harmless, but if you get a lot of them the web that the spread over the rock sometimes can bother coral, but they're usually nothing to worry about. I'm going to guess the white thing is a sponge, but don't hold me to it.

Agree on the vermatid snails! i have one in my nano and his web keeps covering my zoas which have now closed up as a result! Looks like soldering iron time!

probally is that, saw a bit of what i thought was hair on the rock earlier so i took it out. must be them snails.
not sure if it is a sponge or not.

any idea on first pic?

but they dont look like snails, just llook like spikes so i never would have guessed

My vermetid actually lives in an old shell encrusted in a piece of live rock. But it looks similar to those green/brown spiky things. If you see what looks exactly like a loose bit of spiders web hanging from them then you know what it is! lol

Maybe the micro algae neomeris sp or Laurencia sp

Both shooting algae. I can't see very well in the photo, try googling them and see.
