I want some sterbai corys to clean up the bottom but now im thinking something like blue lobsters would be better as when i put my bogwood in, there wont be much flat gravel left for them...

cories won't "clean up," they will just eat the food that gets to the bottom quickly. getting cories means you will have to get food specially for them, such as sinking pellets. they can't just eat what the other fish haven't because they wouldn't get enough.
saying that, any fish will eat food off the bottom so "cleaner fish" aren't really needed.

however, if you do want cories, they don't need as much surface area as other more predatory catfish due to their sociable nature. i've seen shoals with cories piled on each other lol not because the tank was too small, because they just like being close to each other!

anyway, think about it.
what size tank do you have?
if you do decide to go with cory sterbai (beautiful fish btw) then i'd get about 6 of them because you get much better fish when theres more swimming around together. also, keep in mind that they prefer higher temperatures.

Ive got a planted 60L tank... theres not a lot of flat surface for them so i wasnt sure...

Im currently planting and it looks like this

And ive got a piece of bog wood that will fill the majority of the space in the middle and more plants for the back

Think theyll be ok?

Definitely you could fit six cories in there.

Hi Geoff1991 :)

That's only a 15 gallon tank. If you plan to keep corys, please don't fill the tank with wood and plants. They need some room to move around, and to rest and dig on the bottom. :D

that looks perfect for cories! what dya mean you dont have much flat surface?? you have loads! :fun:

and yea, 6 cories could easily fit in there...you may even be able to squeeze 8 in there :shifty: risky business!
thats if you keep the tank how it is anyway. i don't know what your future plans are for the wood etc.

pink.

Im putting a piece of moss covered bog wood in... which with fill a good ammount of that flat area...

Edit Problem solved... ive cut the bog wood up a bit.
