I was wondering what could be used to sterilise nets and the hospital tank etc after quaranteening poorly fish. We asked at lfs who suggested use high strength antibacterial med. This seems a very expensive way of sterilising and also surely won't get rid of things like ich /fungal spores etc.

What other options are there, would nets be sterilised by immersing in boiling water.I assume filling a tank with boiling water could crack the glass.

I'm new to this but I think a 10% bleach solution should be good.

A weak bleach solution will work, as long as you wash the net well after.

I actually use a pond disinfectant from my LFS, again make sure it is well washed off before use.

Hope this helps :)

Weak bleach solution, get a thin household bleach, make sure it's got no fragrances or anything added. mix it up 1 part bleach to 20 parts water, soak things in it then rinse thoroughly
