I got 5 discus recently, I JUST noticed that one of my discus (the most gorgeous one) has different sized eyes, very different sizes; one eye is about twice the diameter of the other....

Is this a concern?
I have only had the fish 3 days, should I concider taking it back to the store for exchange? It is a very beautiful discus besides this "flaw"...

Cheers

Sorry, not going to be much help here, but I can tell you it's not normal, not sure if it would cause a problem though. If the eyes are large in relation to the body it can be a sign of stunting, but I've not heard of one eye being larger than the other.

freaky fish...!! If the eyes don't look clouded and the fish is healthy, I'd assume it was some bizarre genetic flaw - wouldn't have though it would bother the fish particularly.
If you like the fish and you're happy with it, i'd keep him. I would try to avoid breeding him unless you know the defect is not hereditary - odd looking fish and fry generally end up needing to be culled, sadly.

sometimes if the eyes are to big it could mean some kind of bacterial infection or with discus it could also mean that the fish was stunted during growth. what size tank do you have and how many Discus?

I've never heard of stunting causing the eyes to be different sizes; both eyes being too big, yes, but just different sizes..? To be honest, I've never seen a discus with different sized eyes, either.
If the eyes look clear and bright then I'd not worry.

Sounds like popeye where the eyes (or many times only one eye) cannot diffuse fluids properly so they build up behind the eye. This can be a sign or water quality problems or a disease of sometype. Do a water change for now (30-40%) and see if he improves over the course of a few hours. Also, how often do you do water changes and how much of a change do you do? What is the pH, ammonia, and nitrate? How big is the tank and what else is in it with the discus?

It is only ONE eye, and one eye is too small not too big. I have a 90g with 5 discus. I thought I would add 1 or 2 more....
I am curious how common this is...

I am going to observe and try to ensure it is not disease but I dont think it is...

You mean it looks like this?
Yes!

I looked closer and I can see that the unusualy small eye has a cloudy spot in the center of it....hmmmm

And I noticed that even though this fish eats well and agressive, "he" does miss the food often, more often than other fish, and he allways misses to the same side.... seems to me like an eye issue?

I think this flaw could look worse when it is full grown, ive decided to try to take it back to the store. It has been a week already.
