Stunning tank. Those Discus are absolutely gorgeous.

Did you just get that L260?? How many Sterbai have you got as well??

Beautiful pics, very clear. I love the one of the discus eating the lettuce.

:good:

Lovely looking tank!

But what is that lettuce for? its no good for any fish.. (it provides 0 nutritional value....)

Thanks again for the nice comments :)

There's 4 Sterbai in there at the moment, the Queen Arabesque is a fairly new addition I got him in October of last year.

The nutritional value of the lettuce is really irrelevant, the discus are well fed on a wide range of foods. But they enjoy a little green stuff also and will nibble at the plecs and otto's cucumber, peas etc. Discus thrive on a varied diet so as long as they want it I'll put it in the tank for them, if nothing else they won't get constipated ;)

wow, stunning fish!! question, how do you keep your sand so clean?

WoW Anita that tank and your fish are just super stunning ! :hyper:
If I could go RO I'd have them too. But with London tapwater - not a chance in a million years

Your fish look stunning Anita and in great condition. Obviously well looked after. I am not a big fan of the plastic background, doesn't look realistic enough for me, but the planting is great. Just a couple of queries:

1. How do you take such great photos? ie what camera and settings are you using?
2. How difficult is the maintainance on that tank? People are always saying how difficult to keep discus are but do you think the same?

The camera is a FUJI finepix S7000 set in automatic (can't do any of the fancy stuff) with the flash off

Hmmm difficult question, hand on heart I would say discus are not difficult to keep. However they do require a little time than a general community setup, mainly spent doing water changes. I'm lucky as my tap water is ideal so I fill the tank with a hose pipe, for others it's a lot more hard work involved. It's an 85 gallon tank so I'll either do 1x 50% water change with a small freshen up mid week (weekly), or 3x 18 gallons through the week the fish doesn't seem to mind either way :)
