My discus pair were spawning every 7th day for about a month. But now they have stopped! Water parameters are the same..... any suggestions why, or how to get them spawning again?

I do daily water changes where i put in water a little colder than what the tank is at to encourage them, but still no luck!

They kept eating their eggs each time they spawned, so i was hoping after a couple more tries i'd get lucky.... but as i say, they have now stopped!

Just wait if they have done it before they will do it agin. They are taking a break producing eggs and spawning can take a lot out of a fish. Feed them more or switch out the food. Just wait. If you want fry it would be best to move them to a breeding tank.

yes they will just keep eating the eggs untill they are seperated

My pair just spawned and eggs were laid on the heater so they are done for. I am still not sure of the sex of my pigeon that is part of the pair. I am pretty sure I have 2 females. Did you add any new fish to the tank? Because since I took my Festivum out they spawn again. But when the Festivum was in the tank they never showed interest in spawning.

Well i started with 4, then added another 2. As my pair spawned 3 times in my main tank, i then moved them to a breeding tank where they spawned a further two times. Now they are 'resting' i guess. Today the female was putting a little effort into cleaning the cone, but not much effort haha.

Last night i moved my 3 new pigeon bloods into my main tank..... they are TINY! haha

Photo to follow....

Some photos of my new mini discus haha. The are still hiding a lot, so not great photos, but you'll get the idea. First photo is of 3 of my 'old' discus....tried to give a comparison on size, but failed haha

Give them some time fella, they'll more than likely spawn again. Any chance of a full tank shot, the moss on wood in them pics looks awesome. :good:

They are young! And they have permission! They should be at it all the time haha

Will get a better photo of the tank today when i get home from work. (the pair are not in this tank...). But you can see the BGA has made a come back!! GRR

Food got them all out!! So here is a quick snap shot! Though my tank still looks horrible as the BGA is on a come back
