Discus Sick

I'm in eastern Canada. I tried giving him brine shrimp, pelet bloodworm. He wouldn't even try to eat. He just ignores it.

Sorry I read your post wrong, so since you used the wormer the fish has poo jelly.
The meds have gotten rid of the internal parasites.

If a fish dosn't want to eat there not much to be done.
I would give him a few more days to see if he feel like eating now the worms have been killed.

Internal parasites cause alot of damage to the organs, if there infested with them the worms usually have done the damage and the wormer to late.

Yes he's not eating.
Done all you can for him.

Thats good news is he back to normal.

Almost a month now and this guy is sstill not eating. I have treated with fluke tabs for 3 days. doesnt seem to work. So i treated with Metroz for 5 days. And i see him pooping big lump of white jelly poo. (like animal fat) he 's been pooping like that for like 2 days now. and the metroz treatment should go for 7 days as instructed.

Any suggestions on what to approach next?

Still living. 2 months no eating now...

How long did you treat the fish for with metro, what was the dosage, (mg/gallon or liter) what temperature was the tank when you were using the metro, and what was the maintenance procedure performed on this tank?

Sounds like you were making a little headway with the metro, usually the instructions don't give a dosing rate that is quite strong enough, frequent enough, or tell you anything about adjusting the tank temperature when using this medication.

Good news. He starts eating COLORBITS this morning!@!!!! WOOT 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Tolak, my strategy for the first 2 months was:
1. Discus was in main tank with other discus buddy for about a week. He was not eating so i moved him to hospital 10 g alone.
2. I started treating with salt for a week. No good
3. I then started with Mycopur(advertised to against gill flukes) No sucess for a week
4. Then i try metro for 5 days(1/4 teasspoon). Some signs of long jelly white poo came
5. after 5 days, still not eating...
6. so i re-start with mycopur for 2 days since i wasn't sure what was wrong with my discus
7. Always no sucess, so i stopped treating.
8. i just change 50 % water every other day. and i put ONE colorbit every night.
9. And to my surprise, after a few weeks, i saw the colorbit disapear overnight.
10. I continue feeding him overnight with 1 colorbit.
11. and this morning i put 3 colorbit during day time and he attacks it. I assume he is doing much better now.

Temp: 28C
for the first 2 months, almost daily water change of 50 %; for the third month, water change every other day(or even more xD).

Good news, he is back to normal and feces coming out dark red/brown !

Been feeding any blood worms or red foods.

Still living. 2 months no eating now...

time to try the following

lights off
temp to 32 celsius
crushed garlic mixed with frozen bloodworms and flagyl at every feed
25% water change every two days
clean out any uneaten food, but give discus a couple of hours to try to eat.

do this for two weeks.

No blood worms or any type of live/frozen; only colorbits :)

I think i can assume that he is completely healed because:
1. He attacks to colorbit very quickly.
2. He swims in the middle of the quarantine tank looking for food everytime i show up.
3. Brown feces all the time.

However, i cannot put him back in the main tank as the other discus attack him. I even tried to re arrange the settings but no scuess.

:(

He must be eating something, even a fish can't survive that long with no food. How is he appearance wise? Still got red gills? Can you post a pic? Is he still in the hospital tank?

Edit: Sorry, joined this topic 2 months too late!

Anyway, swop the fish over, put the attacker in the hospital tank for a couple of weeks which will hopefully cut out the terriorial business.
