discus+fire eels

can these two go together i have been told by my local lfs that they can i have put in bactinett when can i put fish in i have had the filter and media being ticked over in a friends mature tank i have just set up using ro water

yes these fish can live together, but be aware that discus like soft, bacteria free water, and fire eels get up to 1m and have a diet of worms, bloodworms, and shrimp - possibly even smallfishes, but my 12" fire eel doesn't even bother with neons
