Discus Confusion

i have 2 blue discus and one marbalo red one and i dont know if they are purposelyacting the way they are. the two blue discus are shooing away my tetras and other discus and staying behind a plant and only coming out to feed or to swim strangely. also how long are discus going to stay a bit shy because they are sometimes being shy sometimes in the middle of the tank.

First of all - water stats i.e. nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, PH, temp; other occupants, size of tank, any new additions of any kind?
Are the otherwise acting normally ie - eating, swimming, no signs of stress, infection, swimming funny, ect?
