Last night I saw my female betta when I turned off her light. This morning I went to feed both of my bettas, and she was gone! I searched the tank, picking up decorations, moving plants, and looking in shells. I can't find her anywhere! There are two places where she could've jumped out, but I've had her for 6 months, I don't know why she'd start jumping now! It's possible she jumped out and my cat or dog got to her. First time I've lost a fish as in can't find it...

Have you looked under any furniture near the tank? Hate to say it, but she could have jumped out and 'flopped' under a sofa or table or some other furniture nearby...

I checked under the nearest chair, but other than that I didn't think to check under the furniture! Thanks.

Did you check in the gravel around your plants because I had a half moon Betta and in a half gal. Tank that was divided for two so she had a very small space and one plant. She loves too hide in the plant and stick her had in the gavel. Well I couldn't find her for a whole day and so the next day I went to feed my other Betta and noticed movement and there she was she had actually burrowed into the gravel around the plants he was a little bit stuck and so I dug her out and she came straight for the food GoodLuck!

I did look in the plants, and around the gravel a little bit. She's been gone for a week now, I'm guessing that it's too late to save her now...

Di you never find her? On the floor or anything? I lost my fish too...I even looked around and behind the tank...It took a while but I actually found him about 2 or 3 feet from the tank...but it is possible she jumped and one of your pets found her...I'm so sorry for your loss I know from experience that having a betta jump is just devastating. :(

I have not found her. I thought maybe my cat or dog got her, but neither of them will eat fish! There are a lot of mice in my house, and she's small so one of them could've gotten her. I might be moving in the next year or so, so I may end up finding her then, it happened to a friend of mine, except with platies.

I lost a goldfish once, thought it died and the other one ate it.... 6 months later when i moving my bed i found him. near perfect condition apart from the obvious

one of my fish jumped out of the tank and i couldnt find it found out that there was a very fat mouse under my dresser who decided to snack on my fish when he jumped
out of the tank he was also eating my fish food -.-

sorry that you lost her

I do have mice in my house, so I'm guessing that's what happened. I'm going to search the gravel a little better, just to see if that's where she is. I think I'm going to get some endlers or something for that tank, then I'll only have my male betta. I've lost 4 bettas in the last 6 months, so I'm kind of discouraged, but I also don't want to put the tank away when it's all cycled and everything. I'm half hoping that I don't find her, I loved all of my females, but she was my favorite.

i feel bad for u did u check the fillter some times they live in there

I am replying late but I am sorry about your loss  Did the tank have a top on it? Or was it a bowl?
