I have an aquaclear hob filter and find the nutrafin bubble ladder a little distracting, in size, in my 10g tank.

Has anyone ever had problems with diffusing the co2 through your filter intakes? I have heard conflicting views and would like to see what the majority believe.

alot of people find it safe to do, especially on their eheim intakes. not so sure because you have a smaller tank and different filter.

another method a lot use is by using a powerhead instead to make a co2 mist. using the intake of that

I wouldn't,
My thoughts are that benificial bacteria need oxygen to thrive and do the thing they are good at so i cant help but think that its not going to be the best thing for your filter's bio buddies.
Plus from what ive heard it can be noisy.

Find a better diffuser/atomiser IMO.

The only real reason im looking for alternatives is because the nutrafin ladder dwarfs my 10g tank, but this should be resolved by planting it heavily right?

- how would i prevent leaves from blocking up the ladder?
