We had a bit of a mess last week when the workers busted a gas line in my backyard and I had to evacuate the house with the dog and cat.

Diesel the cat had never been outside before so he was SO SO scared that he peed himself in his carrier while I had him at the neighbours during the evacuation. Being he has long fur, he was an abosulte matt of saturated urine so he spent the night at the vets and they shaved him down in the morning.

He seems happier then ever with his new haircut and hes been extra affectionate since I brought him home from the vets. He must feel so much better without all that extra fur for the summer.

Here is he before:

OMG that is too cute!

hahah i know eh!

The vet said most cats are traumitized and embarassed to have this done and go into hiding for a few days but Diesel didn't show any signs of that. He loves his new style and so do I.

I think we may always keep him shaved down, at least for the summer months, maybe winter as well since hes indoors at all times.

POTM nom for this handsome lion. :good:

Oh, I'll second that.

I used to have a big orange tom cat (weighed in at 26lbs) that I would take to a groomer for a shave every summer. He was the only cat she'd do, and he'd just sit there a purr while she worked on him. When he'd come home he'd be sooo loveable, you just couldn't help but rub all that peach fuzz.

Had another cat that looked just like yours that would hide when we had him shaved. It'd take him days to come out in the open, so just depends on their personality.

Thanks for the nominations B-)

This will be the second month in a row for him so I hope thats allowed. I posted his oh so cute kitten pic last month.

I was wondering how they can actually shave a cat and get it done not need any sedataves. Diesel is not the most peaceful cat in the world and hates being groomed and brushed so I can only imagine what he and most cats would put the groomers through.

That's so adorable.. and hilarious :D
You should totally submit the story along with the photos to cuteoverload heh

If he gets nominated, you can enter him every month until he wins. He better win this month though, all that cute fluffiness.

Too cute. I used to get one of my cats shaved too. She had a medical issue and was 26 lbs (found out she can't have grains in her food). Now she's 11 lbs and healthy as ever and I haven't shaved her in over a year. I used to work at the place they did it too and she LOVED it. She loved the clippers, but did NOT like the bath. She was always very proud of herself when she got home, and I think it was a relief for her (being so big and all).

to cool! i luv cats but your one is easily a winner! specially with that sleek new haircut!
