Diary of my Saltwater setup

Oh price update - nearly forgot.

Fish - £130 (for 5)
Leather coral - £20 (nice big piece with a baby bit sprouting - have teased it off and jammed it in a hole in a piece of rock (gently jammed though))
New lights - £8.50 each (compared to Pets at Home where they were £13.99 each) They're so cheap because they are only standard actinic blue and white and also only 18 inches.

Running cost total:

£427 (give or take)

Bear in mind that I bought a second hand tank though...

That's tank, filter, lights, crushed coral, live sand, 8kg live rock, 2 turbo snails, 2 hermit crabs, leather coral, blue mushrooms and 5 fish. Don't think that's too bad eh? Oh and test kits...

Mad Sally (hawkfish) is living up to her name. I thought they were supposed to be quiet things that sat on rock and looked gormless... Mine is an absolute loon who is here there and everywhere!

My coral beauty is also not like how people say she would be. I expected a quiet fish spending most of its time hiding in the rock - but no, she swims about quite happily in the open.

Hercules (clown) and Cubix (box) have buddied up and swim around together.

The weirdest though is the psychadelic fish - if you put your hand in the tank to do anything he sits on it. Quite cute really.

Here's my bare tank:

Will get some pictures of my fish and crabs over the weekend and try to post them...

My live rock display is different now - I have more and it is less crammed to the left now. Looks a bit more balanced. Cant wait to get pics on now I can. Shame my camera is so pants...

Just for the record my last two posts were done under the influence of alcohol...

oops

That's the lot...

everything is looking great, the olny fish id becareful with is the mandrin psychedelic gobi, i learned recently that if he gets to stressed out by anything like an aggressive fish he could release piosons wasnt sure if you knew.

I'd heard that about the box fish... They seems ok so far. There's plenty of caves in the live rock for them to hide when Mad Sally goes nuts. The psychadelic has settled ok - he even goes for a swim now and then in the water rather than hovering around the rock.

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: They are beautiful Leanne!!! Cubix is really cute  And the others have beautiful colours too~ I'm so glad the tank has found a loving owner!! :D

"Cubix is really cute"

Call me old-fashioned but I think Leanne and her baby sis are far cuter! ;)
