can you use just DI water for water changes and filling thee tank up? its just all DI water is is boiled water left to go cool isnt it. its just my mum and dads friends are gonna get a big mutha tank and it would be easier.
Yeah, you can use distilled from a grocery store so long as its pure distilled water (IE no minerals added). A lot of "distilled" water nowadays isnt really distilled as companies seem to be cutting corners (at least here in the US). Only way to know if its truly distilled is to check it with a TDS meter unfortunately
i think id be safe with uk water after all its enough money. hmmm i just need to think what is easier the 20 minute drive to the lfs adn the cheaper water or the expensive bottled stuff that isnt pure that id have to add saltwater to and a bag of salt (decent size~) is about £49.99. maybe i could just buy the salt water adn use distilled stuff to top up. yer i think id do that.
i can get ro water from lfs for £2.50 for 25 litres and most lfs i've been in sell it
still the best option in my opinion but suppose if you can't get ro and can get the the distilled checked out like ski says should be ok
how much is say 10 litres of distilled in morrisons anyway surely a ro unit would soon pay for itself
