You might recognize me from last year/summer. I have decided to pick up the hobby after almost finishing the stand I lost interest. So here I am, wiwth my 55 gallon again.

I've been thinking and this is how i might stock it.

Clown Loach x4
Bosemani Rainbow x2
Silver Tip Tetras x5
Neon Tetra x5
Cory Cats x4-5

And what kind of Corys should I get?

Two Rainbows is a big NO NO, go with at least 4. There are many cories out there, you hsould go out and see what is available and what you like.

Okay, then here is what I'm thinking of getting

Clown Loach x4
Bosemani Rainbow x3-4
Silver Tip Tetras x5
Neon Tetra x5
Cory Cats x4-5

Clown loaches get enormous. Theyre gonna get way too big for a 55.

I don't know for a fact how big Clown Loaches get but I was warned off them for my 40 gallon and since then I have seen some rather large ones that would have been way too big for it so I'm very glad I didn't. :)

Clown loaches are very slow growers, but when full grown, they should be 14". If you get them small (under 3") it will probably be a few years before they get too big for your tank.

I pretty much have the stock down

The clown loaches at my store are really small 1 1/2" to 2".

I just need to decide what kind of cory's ill be getting.

I'm thinking of just having a huge shoal of tetras with 3 bosemani rainbows and then 3-4 clown loaches for the bottom and a few corys

I have only ever seen one clown loach that was massive (12") and it was because it was wild caught. They only get about 6" in captivity.

No, they get 12" if kept in a properly sized tank. I've seen pictures of ones that get massive when kept in a tank big enough for them.

Wayne- That is true that they are very slow growers. I was just pointing it out because you said that you were just getting back into the hobby and i didnt know if you were planning on buying a bigger tank anytime soon.

Well if that should happen i should be fine. Right? I mean the 6" part.

So here is the stocking I think I'm gonna finish the stand tonight with my dad, I dunno though

Clown Loach x2-4
Bosemani Rainbow x3
Silver Tip Tetras x6-8
Neon Tetra x6-8
Cory Cats x4

I may change the tetra stocking depending on what the store has.

wow you have see pictures, my uncle got some that are 11 years old and in his 180 gallon community and they are only about 6-7" long.
