Decided To Pick This Up Again...

the minumum tank size for a clown loach is 55 gallon so you should be ok

I saw on youtube someones tank and they had full grown full grown clown loaches at 14+. They say they raised them since 3 or 4 inch.

No, they get 12" if kept in a properly sized tank. I've seen pictures of ones that get massive when kept in a tank big enough for them.

Wayne- That is true that they are very slow growers. I was just pointing it out because you said that you were just getting back into the hobby and i didnt know if you were planning on buying a bigger tank anytime soon.

I know they get big and when the time comes for a bigger tank I'll have to get them one.

If I had 3 clown loaches in a group for my tank they would be fine right?

I would get about 20 of one type, add them slowly though, like 5 at a time. Also, I would get more clown loaches, like 6.

Looks like neon tetra and cardinal tetras are the same, is one bigger than the other or one just more colorful.

In Cardinals the red stripe goes the full length of the body whereas in the neon it only goes about half way. I think the cardinals can grow marginally bigger too.

I might just stick with neon's then.

Another question....

What type of rocks can I use to scape my tank with?
like in this thread idlefingers post on the 3rd picutre and **sarahp** her first photo with the pebbles forming a little shelter type thing. And where can I find these rocks?

ANDD what type of sand should I get a want a white/beige colored sand...

wow, i know you said you are going to get a bigger tank for loaches when needed but i found this sight and look at the size of them O_O
