Decent Language To Learn.

Personally I'd do Spanish cause I enjoyed it at GCSE, but if you wanted something a bit different and something that will probably be very useful in the future then consider chinese like nelly said. :)

iestoy tomando clases españolas
R con R cigarro, R con R barril, rápido corren los carros cargados de azúcar al ferrocarril.

LOL my parents can say that phrase in like 2 seconds  , I take more like 10 seconds.
BTW are you originally from England?
Most of my 100% english friends can't say the 'rr' pronounciation. :hey:

Yes iam 100% english, my wife is colombian, she takes great pleasure in trying to get me to say that,i find it impossible to say that, also the 'rr' again is impossible, which everyone in colombia take great pleasure trying to get me to say things which contain this....

i wanna speak huttese :D

iestoy tomando clases españolas

can you pronounce the "rr"? Iam finding it impossible,

I cannot for the life of me say this tongue twister...

R con R cigarro, R con R barril, rápido corren los carros cargados de azúcar al ferrocarril.

facil

Spanish all the way! :yahoo:
Spanish is my primary language along with english, once you know spanish, you will find it makes learning french, german, arabic, italian and similar languages very easily, the hard thing as nelly said is the pronounciation.

iestoy tomando clases españolas

tip: estoy tomando classes de español

german is most cetainly not associated with spanish

spanish is a romance language like french, italian, and romanian and two others

german and english more closely related

arabic i have no idea but spanish has arabic influence so i would say something similar at least.

español es impresionante. si fuera usted lo tomaría. lo he tomado desde el 1 de septiembre y he aprendido ya mucho. mucha gente también habla español.

Like others have said, it depends on what you want to do with the language.

I really regret not trying harder in French classes at school, I now see how useful an extra language is. I'm half planning on teaching English abroad (going on a CELTA course soon), so will be at least a year in another country hopefully. I'm thinking S.E. Asia primarily, so have seriously thought about trying learning mandarin or korean - depending on what country I choose obviously.

Out of the three I would choose Spanish personally, with that you could travel latin america (if traveling appeals to you).

We have a very interesting language here in SA, called "Fanagalo"...It is a language, that was compiled from (about) 14 different languages to be used on the mines where we have people from many of the homelands working on the mines and in order to make sure they understand each other.... Fanagalo was created with phrases and dialects mixed from all of those languages and is effective to making yourself understood in all of them.... Having worked on the mines for 40 years, I speak Fanagalo to my rural employees from other countries, and they all understand what I say....
