Also can we have some gifts on basis of score or posts or replies, and then we can send the gifts to our friends ? The gifts we got from friends will be shown on our profile. What say. Gifts can be like Betta a chichlid or any fish or tank and filter. We can have an online fish tank

I am on a forum that has a thanks button for posts but I ignore it completely most of the time.

TBH it is pretty easy to tell what is good advice and what is bad advice, that's before anyone else chimes in with an agreement or a counter opinion in the thread.

Also, fishkeeping is not an exact science, what's to say that your advice is as good as another piece of differing advice?

Nice idea in theory, not worth the hassle to implement and then moderate in practice.

Just.... This. Advice given to someone may not be relevant to another person in the same situation, and newbies would end up following the "highly voted" advice like a step by step book, which could get really ugly.

Agreed. Could also turn into a sort of "popularity contest". It just would not work im afraid. It might misguide inexperienced people to "follow" the one with most likes or thanks or what-have-you. Would potentially cause more problems that its value (which i dont understand the value in anyway).

I find myself wishing there was a "like" button that I could user on certain posts that simply give a quick way to say thanks without adding another post in the thread (and another signature taking up real estate like mine does!). If that was implemented, and, yes, there would be people who try to abuse it, it could be evaluated later on to see about possibly changing the avatar labels based on numbers of "likes". That would be more automated than having the mods verify quality of posts.

When we start getting abusive and insulting towards each other, it is an indication that the post served it purpose and there is no more to be said on the subject matter..... Bottom line is..... this is not going to be impemented for most and/or all of the reasons mentioned.
