Hi,

I have had two mollies kept for about a week and the water has remained perfectly clear.

Today I added two more mollies, and two really small baby shrimp, and catfish things (cant remember what theyre called).

Iv just come home and one of the new mollies was dead, one shrimp was dead and stuck in the filter, the other was dead on the bottom of the tank, and the water is REALLY murky.

I assume my filter stoped for some reason (possibly clogged by the shrimp?), ive cleaned it and it seems to be going ok.

Ive removed the dead mollie, do i need to remove the two dead shrimp? theyre so small you can hardly see them. Now the filters going again will the water sort itself out?

Thanks!

Yes you will need to remove the strimp dont want a rotting body in the tank.
How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
I would check your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate.

I'm just back from work and cant see the little dead shrimp anywhere. Is it possible theyve been eaten?
Did you not try to compensate for the new additions by feeding that much more which would explain the murky water.... In 90% cases where there are "overnight" fatalities like this, it can be ascribed to over feeding.
