Well, sadly (and wicked gross I might add) one of my female guppies is going to die by turning inside out. This is what, the second, third time this has happened now since I first started getting guppies and I am just a wee bit pissed  I was really looking forward to her babies since I bought her out of a tank with males that had nice colors and various types of fins. Now I'll be lucky to get one baby out of her before she goes belly up... I'm am getting so mad at guppies, first no babies, now when I'm expecting some this whole inside out/gut bursting thing is happening again... WHY???????

It's like their butt gets all funky and sort pale, then it turns yellow and starts to curl outwards, then it's guts come out and then it dies in a couple of days, or sooner, depending. It's just upsetting cause I liked that one the most...

holy #### thats not good, i would like get the water checked by the pet store...twice and then starte buying all kinds of fish chems.

by the way, was she preggo?

gezzz, I have had gups for yrs...and I have never seen that...of course I have one male sick right now with pink/red circles forming on his body...never seen that either...well good luck...I will try and read what i can on this on the web, if I find anything I will let u know...

Wow now that sounds pretty serious. If all your fish die i would recommend just cleaning that whole tank out completely and starting your cycle all over again. Might want to even throw away some stuff like the filter media to make sure that that disease is gone for sure.

Otherwise, if your fish do not die then i would look on the internet for the disease name and a cure and then start buying the medications to treat that. You can only hope for the best but your fish might have a fighting chance if you start researching for a medication now.

I asked the lady at the store (I babysit near the place right now, sooo happy about that!!) and she said she's seen it before, and there's nothing you can really do about it. Apparently it's not contagious either, since three of my other females have never got it, and two of them were with the first one who had it, the other was with another one who got it too, and they aren't affected. Speaking of which, she is preg, and WOOHOO!! cause I found a baby swimming in the new java moss I bought the other day! He's now safely playing in his breeder net with a small chunk of moss. I think it's her's cause she looks deflated now, but her butt's still wonky. So now if she does die at least I'll have one baby from her...
