So I would love to get a 75 gallon tank and go crazy with a really cool planted community tank. Probably not happening anytime soon :/ so this is just me daydreaming and wishing it WAS happening sometime soon.

That aside it occurred to me that I would love to do a mostly danio aquarium. Having schools of active, good looking, danios would would make for a pretty cool tank.

So some theoretical questions:
I assume most all danios are compatible with each other. It would be cool to have Giant Danios as the main feature fish and then do some celestial pearls and maybe Danio erythromicron.

I know danios like cooler water than a lot of fish do so some questions about some non danio tank mates:
Vampire shrimp?
Gold Nugget Pleco? (Or other plecos)
Lake Kutubu Rainbowfish? (Possibly other Rainbowfish?)

Any other ideas for tank mates?

You could do bosemani rainbows. I like GN plecos, they have a very cool pattern on them. There is a lot you could do with a 75 gallon, a species rainbow tank, cichlid tank, rummynose tetra as a giant shoal and some corys and otocinclus here and there. There are so many options.

75 gal tanks...why not tweak your itch by checking with E-Bay, Craig's List, FB marketplace.....lots of people looking to get rid of large tanks because they underestimated the time and expense of maintenance....good luck and I apologize if I got you itching for a large tank now...PS I score a 100 g acrylic tank with EVERYTING...stand, heater, substrate, canister filter, plants, even simple cheap livestock for a very reasonable price....so you never know what's available in the used market....now if only I can find space for a 240 LOL....

Most 75g tank on my craigslist run around $100-$250.

I would also really like to have a tank that big, and I also find myself daydreaming about it.

but if you can git one that comes with all the stuff that would be even better....remember it's not the tank that is expensive but the stuff you need for it...think lights, filter, substrate etc...so if you can score a "complete tank" that would be even better....

Yes, most big full setups run for about $400.

(I just saw a 220g tank that was $600.)

No ones commented on the danios lol. I will have to keep an eye on craiglist and ksl for a complete setup. I have seen good deals on there before. I'm not even sure where I would put a 75 gallon..... lol

I don’t think you could do the rainbows with the danios, just because of the temperature. I believe giant danios and zebra danios can bet kept together. Pearl danios are also awesome. You could have a HUGE school in a 75g. :)

(I would personally get neon tetras, just because I like them better, but it’s all up to you. :))
