Ha, maybe we have tempted him away from crappy guppies, mollies and platies :D

Go get yourself a nice big school of something! Rummynose / harlequins / neons or cardinals etc will look ace :D

Ps, great work on the build/cycle, nice to see people wait it out patiently and do it right from the start, looking forward to pics :D

lol :D

To be fair, although i diss them, they do add some nice colour to a tank...but thats about it. Tropical tanks do tend to end up being very "silver fish" like. I'm guilty of putting half a dozen orange Platies in my tank at one point. :) You stock it with whatever you like mate, its under your roof not mine :)

lol. im gooing to go to lfs and have a good look he has some strange fish in there. defo a plec for alge and some bottom feeders. neons defo. so just got the good job of massive water change now. kind of be strange with fish in there lol been looking at just water for over a month.

ps. seriously thanks for all your help mate.

Why no love for the Guppies? I have 4 different colored males in one of my 20 gallons and they're some of the most beautiful, active & interesting fish in any tank I have. I rate them right up there with Corys for activity.

Definitely they are some of the most lovely fish! I miss my flamed tail guppies... The green tail ones were beautiful too, the worst ones in color were the gray+red endler lookalikes (I didn't even have endlers for that many years to wake up with endler hybrids, so I wonder how that happened...)
Though I haven't noticed them having any outstanding personalities, unlike swordtails and Hoplos.

Neons may not be such a good idea in a new tank, they can be a bit friagile, have you looked at cardinal tetras? They are even more colourful & a bit tougher.

Tom

ps, glad the donation worked well, I was worried it wouldnt, what with the cold snap we have been having.
