iv never kept danios and have read that they prefer temperatures 0f 65* +. i have a spare tank with many floating plants, rocks etc will this be suitable to house danios as i have no heater in the tank. (water at 65* anyway) and no air pump but prepared to clean the tank every few days to get that little bit of air in. is this suitable?

Hello!

I am a newbie to fish, so please take my suggestion with a grain of salt. I have a new tank that I have started with 2 leopard and 2 zebra danios and I have been watching them closely for any signs of stress. One thing I have noticed is that they seem to LOVE the currents coming from by filter output. They repeatedly make mad dashes into the current all day long.

Anyway, from what I read the temperature should be fine but they seem to appreciate the filter/current action.

Cheers!

65F is ideal for zebra daios, other danios may require different temps
checkout my website (see sig) for info on many different danios.
just one thing, apart from the smaller species Dwarfs etc
danios need at least 20 gallons.

the temp range of ZDs is Temperature: 18-24c / 64-75f.
therfore 65f is in their range.
they won't breed in that temp so depending on
your point of view it is ideal.
