USA,
i have a three gallon container. i want to put danios in there. will that be okay? Will cold water be alright? also what are those pink danios, and do they come in a long fin variety?
thanks

Danios are very active swimmers. Imo, a 3 gallon container is insufficient to say the least, due to a lack of swimming space more than bioload, although that might come into play as well and prevent you from keeping them in a school of adequate size. From what i understand, they are fairly tolerant of cooler water, but would do better with a heater. The pink danios are likely the genetically engineered "glowfish", the ones i've seen had a reddish or pinkish tinge. Yes, the zebra, leopard, and blue danios all have long finned varieties, possibly other danios as well.

NO! absolutly not!
for the reasons stated above

Sorry wrs but IMHO anything less than 10 gallons
should only house bettas or be used as
hospital/quarantine/breeding tanks.

I agree, 3 gallons is great for a betta, but i wouldn't keep anything else in such a small space, except maybe an apple snail, or some ghost shrimp, depending on the temperment of the betta.

Some people might suggest an ADF or two. I personally like to keep mine in a heated tank.

I have an empty 2.5g that I was thinking of adding a few juvie White Cloud minnows, but decided against it because they will just have to be re-homed in the future.

A betta would be VERY happy in a 3g.
