USA,
I had a danio all by him self and he was really nice. I got him some more friends and theyre little hellions. The nipped at my plattie and corries so I moved them to my brothers tank. The nipped the little angelfish babies tail, so theres like nothing left. So I took them back and theyre nipping again. I have a little 3 gallon tank that I can put them in, but theres no aeration, and I have a little 1 gallon that I was thinking of putting them in until the others got better, but theres little guppie fry in there. Would they eat them? What should I do with them? The original one is good, he doesnt like them at all and never shoals with them. Just those two that nipp stay with eachother. HELP!

You could put them in 3 gallon provided it is filtered but I have found that if the shoal is larger they are distracted by keeping the pecking order in their own shoal. Can you increase the shoal to 6-8? :)

What danio are we talking about? Zebras? sounds like Zebras to me
I aggree with ryan increase the shoal and this behaviour should go. :D

I wouldn't recomed putting any danios in a 3 gal tank
yes they would eat your fry
and as above increase the shoal, I recomend 5 as a minimum :nod:

Sorry I should have asked which species it is, I presumed they were Zebras (Brachydanio Rerio) from your signature. If you wanted some more basic info you could always check out the fish index profile;
Zebra Danios or you could check out the cyprinids index for information on several other danio species if you are unsure of what you have. But I should think you know all about your fish, just checking. :)

Cyprinids index; http://fish.orbust.net/forums/index.php?showforum=43 . :thumbs:

presumption is the mother of all F'#$ ups (under siege 2) :D

yup their zebras. Theres no aeration in the 3 gallon because my bettas were in it, and they dont like surface aggitation. I could take the airstone out of the fry tank, but I think theyd die.

Why not set-up a danio themed tank. :thumbs:

I have written several Danio profiles in the fish index that could show you several other species like Pearl, Leopard and Gaint Danios all of which are nice fish. Otherwise I would advise you to buy more fish. :)

more fish would over stock it... and I cant get another tank. My mom wont let me for some un known reason. I think she doesnt like fish, lol. Id love a danio tank, theyre such nice fish, well except for the 2 new ones, lol.
