Dammed cat has mauled and killed my fish!!

Sadly The law doesnt seem to care that cats are roaming free in most places or that your fishy livestock has been damaged, here atleast. I really do encourage you to exploit its lead allergies with a low powered rifle or even a pelet gun from inside your home with earplugs, Shoot the cat from inside and close the window, Although asking them would be nice, MAybe remind them that you arent the only person in the area who dislikes the cats running about and that the cats need to be indoors for there own safety.

similar problem, here but its the trash that the cats are getting into. I have been trapping them in a live trap and taking them to the humane society lol though some of them I don't even know how they fit into the trap!!!!

that might not be such a bad idea, trap the cat then take it to the local cat shelter claiming its a stray and hopefully the neighbours wont miss it or by the time they do it will be rehomed.

lol  , or sell them for a price

anyways I've had three cats: bandit, sidney and sooty, I love cats (just not other peoples)

Oh and I think the measures I have put in place are working, havn't seen the cats for atleast 3 days :D

I think you should go to your neighbour and show him the hurt and dead fish and say how would you like to pay for these and I would get one of those poles that looks like a scarecrow and it feels for vibrations and shoots water when it can feel vibrations

Yeah, and Opcn, be careful what you say about cats--I simply adore them! When I think of anyone trying to shoot my babies...of course, that's one of the many reasons I don't let them outside in the first place...

Aww I know how you feel. I've had this happen to my fish but If I were a cat, I would probably help myself to a tasty goldfish.

Just leave you a nice bowl of milk/antifreeze mixture out, with a mintleaf.

Seriously though, the sprinkler system, bull mastiff, and carpet gripper techniques combined would seem to be pretty catproof.

gotta remind that it is the semi-ornimental/wildlife pond, not fort knox

Besides as said my neighbor.... well try talking to someone 3 times your width with an alsatian. But it don't matter so much as the cat hasn't been here for a bit, and I'm going away for a bit tomorrow, with my other neibours looking after my tanks and pond, so it should continue to be o.k

You know, when my cats used to jump on the counters I squirted them with a vinager/water mixture. Maybe you should mix some up and try that..maybe with water ballons or something lol.

(and video tape this..I bet it'd be quite funny) ;) Sorry about your fish though..that orange and black one is really nice. :)

personally, i like teh water idea, just line a bunch of sprinklers all around ur pond, so that the cat gets wet no matter how much it tires.
