Curious about our other halves......

I just thought I'd vent in the form of a Poll.
Fishkeeping is just one of those things that my hubby grunts and groans about. He seems to enjoy the fish ONLY when they are clean and all is well. Even then he acts as though he doesn't really like'em!!

He does help, but not without the religious......"UGH......MAN........STUPID FISH.......I HATE FISH.......WHY DO WE HAVE ALL THESE FISH!"

I just wish sometimes that he shared my love for these creatures!!

What about you guys???

I have no other half so I can't comment about it really.
My majority of my friends think that I'm a moron for wanting to keep fish..

My boyfriend actually loves fish...and I can be blamed for that. He helps me feed them and pick out new ones at the store, and he even takes me to our local pet shops just so I can look at all the pretty fishies. The only thing he won't do though, is clean the tanks...he thinks it's icky.

Hi,

My girlfriend has never been especially interested - she looks at them occaisionally, and even sometimes gives her opinion on which fish I should get, if I'm thinking about new ones - of course, she always chooses completely inappropriate ones(!)

She would never help with water changes, etc (and in fact, I probably wouldn't want her help - she's got rather a 'that'll do' attitude - which is probably why she's with me... ).

PS She spends most of her time complaining that my lovely black widow tetras are boring (philistine)!

PPS ladynaoko most of my friends think I'm stupid too, but then that's probably only partly to do with the fish...

Hi! I guess I'm lucky... my husband and I started our tank together and he always volunteers to do the ickier jobs like cleaning out the tank (gotta love that syphoning business! ) Although he always laughs at me whenever I talk to my fish 'Hello babies... how's everyone doing today... (and the like)" I know that secretly he does the same thing!

My friends and coworkers on the otherhand think i'm certifiably insane! Guess I must talk too much about my babies at work

My hubby likes my fish and takes me all over the place to find the ones i want and to look for stuff but he dont do anything with them he leaves that to me,an to be honest i like it that way

Chukk loves fish and helps me. He wants to build his own shark tank in the basement soon,eghads I told him to join here and start reading up.

My husband is particularly fond of the Rainbow species so I'm thinking about getting a couple!! Maybe this will help to perk his interest!?? He also likes the Bala sharks a lot but knows we will never have the tank space for them bad boys!!!!

Haha! Yeah, I think it is a 'man' thing. We have two bettas and they are both my boyfriends. All the other fish are mine...he dosen't want them.

Doesn't mind the fish, but doesn't understand my love for them. As long as I keep the tanks clean, he doesn't complain

my hubby has decided that i am nuts, but is glad i have found something to obsess over. when i tell him he can't go play golf he says i can't buy anymore fish

My girl likes them, but doesn't help with any of the cleaning. She will feed them if I'm out of town, I just have to clean the bettas before I go. The only thing that she really hates about them is getting dragged to the fish store all of the time!
