Ok tomorrow is water change day after my hol/marriage in vegas.

Tank is cycled so now its time to think CUC, i'm just after peoples views on what to get really. I have 1 electric blue hermit already (hitch hiker)

Ny journel is Operation Marine if you want more info

Can you give me an idea on numbers

I have no problem with snails infact i was thinking of keeping just the one hermit.

got eye on some turbo snails around 4 is that a good number? along with a couple cleaner shrimp

i would go for:

4-5 shrimp
6 turbos
6 ceriths
15 nass snails
8 red legged hermits
but start with half of it, you may want to buy it from reefstock as its very cheap!

^^I've obviously got 6 lazy ones then. Move infrequently and seem to do little work :/ :p (kinda reminds me of my Brother ATM)

got a electric blue hermit already will it get along with the red legged hermits?

Depends on the exact species of Blue Leg. Some Blue Legs are very nasty to other hermits and snails, others not quite so. I think Photo's are in order (and no, that's not an excuse for asking for Photo's  :p )

This is a good idea, as electric blues (Calcinus elegans) can get rather large. I've seen a fewin shells just over 3" accross. One hermit may do the job once fully grown. If you do add other hermits at some point, keeping only one species will be much safer than introducing different species.

will it get along with the red legged hermits?

Probably not a great idea. Calcinus elegans is usually pretty peaceful towards snails and other non-hermit crustaceans, but they do get quite a lot bigger than most other species sold as reg-legs. One of the species most commonly sold as scarlet or redleg hermits, Paguristes cadenati, has a bad track record with other species, you may run into a situation of the species with the larger individuals being the only one left after some amount of fighting. Clibanarius erythropus, occasionally sold as red-legs, are likely to get beaten up by larger species and would not be able to compete effectively against a full-grown Calcinus elegans.

Ok so its keep hermits to one species ( electric blue in my case) if i was to add a few more hermits of same species maybe add only 3 more to take it to 4 Electric blue hermits, that sound ok.

Shrimp my wife loves the "sexy" shrimp and also the blood shrimp, these compatible?

Turbo snails explain themselves along with nass snails etc.

Bit of a hold up on the shrimp LFS only had 1 blood shrimp so i got that, not a major thing as stocking slowly anyway. Just to confirm sexy shrimp are also called dancing shrimp correct?

Have updated my journal too pics will come later

Can be. Just to confuse things though, you can get other species under the "dancing shrimp" common name as well as the "Sexy shrimp"...
