Hi Everyone

I wanted to update you on how the tiny cream colored girl I rescued is doing. So far she has been getting worse. Still no signs of physical illness other than the red dot that appeared on her lip and clamped fins. She has not eaten in the 4 days I have had her.

I thought she was going to die last night but she managed to survive the night!! She is now having a harder time swimming. If there is movement in the water (during gentle water changes) her body moves with the current. She is a fighter tho and is really hanging on. She no longer can float on top of her jar so I lowered the water depth so she can get to the top easier for air.

I have been treating with antibiotics (maracyn and maracyn 2) and aquarium salt and I think that may be the only reason she is still alive.

My daughter, 4, named her Cinderella because of her mean tank mates.

Wish us luck, I am hoping she will pull through. I am keeping her warm and wrapped a towel around her jar to keep it darker for her.

Sounds like you're doing the best you can for the poor kid, and much more than so many people would bother to do. Good luck. I hope she pulls through.

Good luck with the little girl - they can surprise you and make a turnaround pretty quickly.

Keep up the good work :)

Thanks everyone...I thought she has died so many times. She now has a blister on her head like a pimple but with a red dot in the middle. She swims backwards like she can't always control herself and mostly just lies on the bottom on her side unless she is making a dash for air. I lowered the depth of water to just 4 in so she can get air easily.

I am continuing antibiotics and quick cure in case of parasites causing the blisters appearing on her.

Sandi

PS Even my husband, who does not like fish, is concerned about her!
