Crab Id Please

crab ID please

i just found this crab shell in my tank and would like to know what kind it is. im hoping its reef safe so i dont need to take apart the tank to remove it . lately i have seen that my leather is getting cut up but have yet to see what is doing it.

Cant say I can ID the crab directly. but for this sort of stuff I have always trawled through the links on the following web page

If you cant find a direct match, post you picture in the site and maybe someone there can help. Useful starting point is to know which part of the world you live rock came from , e.g Fiji and start search the livestock desriptions for that part of the world. Hope you have some success as its not what we chose to put in the tank that kicks us in the ass but the bits we get free of charge.
