Could i add kuhli loaches to my aquarium?

depending on what the GH is, you would be better off adding more neon tetras so there is at least 10 of them.

khuli loaches spend 99% of their time hiding. you won't see them.
i disagree i have kept them and if you keep them with hight light that is true but in low light with a small group (3-5) they are almost always visible.

Having kept many groups of many kuhli loaches over the year - (btw many species are sold as kuhli); i have never been able to establish a pattern for when they will stay visible and when they won't. Lighting didnt' seem to matter; tank mates didnt' seem to matter - just some groups would hide (but come out to play at night) and others wouldn't bother. The only semi-consitent things i have found is they are more frequently to show up after a larger water change (but again different groups have different pattern here); and if they are hungry they will come out to eat no matter the time of day. In one aquarium i thought they all died only to discover a year later when one came out to eat in the morning. Then i figured i had just one left in there - but then 2 months later i saw 2 at the same time - so who knows how many are in there.

One word of warning - they will dig and cover themselves at time so if you clean the substrate be gentle else you might cut one in 1/2.

This thread is getting very confusing. In post #1 the tank is given as a 23g, and 5 sterbai cories (and neons) are present. Assuming the 23g tank is 30 inches/75cm in length, a few more cories are advisable. No kuhlii, you have already decided on cories.

You do not want to be creating a strong current in this small a tank. There is no need for it, and the fish will have no respite.

For reasons i don't understand someone mentioned panda cory and someone else said they require strong current and ....

My tank is tall, it has the footprint of a 12-15 gallon

OK, nothing changes. A flow from the filter down one wall is fine for the pandas, but noting too strong. The neons will not want even this, but so long as they can get out of it, not a problem.

Thankyou, the entrance of the filter touches the botton of the tank and the neons can get away from the strong flow
