Corys?

Ok people this needs to get through. People say rams are peaceful. What they mean is peaceful for a cichlid. They cannot be compared to something peaceful like a balloon molly or something like that. Or else it wouldn't be a cichlid. Thats one of there traits agressiveness. There not as agressive as an oscar or nothing like that though. Heres the site that i read about the cory's. The site. Believe who ever you want to believe but i wouldnt do it.
you haven't even kept them....you need to listen to those who are experienced instead of basing it on a single article and claiming that this article is the end-all...i understand what you have read...and i understand that they are "peacful for a cichlid," but ANY fish will eat the eyes of other fish if that fish is injured....i have/had kept 3 true pairs of rams....the ones that spawned most were in my 20 long with 4 peppered cories...everyone is still alive and kickin...

i would highly advise against NOT keeping cories with rams....they make perfect tank mates in 99% of the situations....and its very entertaining watching the rams "herd" the other fish around the tank when they feel like it...

you're so quick to call all of us ram owners complete idiots based on one article....maybe you should reference the hundreds that say rams make great community fish.....

EDIT: and now after reading the article that particular owner has never experienced the cory eye-biting phenomena - he has simply heard that there have been cases of it although he clearly states that rams are peacful and may chase a fish out of its territory, but not too badly...so...anyhow...we shouldn't be basing all of our information and advice on one person's wiki article, which doesn't even state the problems you have raised, right?

My female Ram definitely knocked the eye out of my dwarf Cory - I saw it happen.
She didn't bite it, she butted it and its eye popped out.
I have 6 Pygmies, 2 dwarfs (including the 1 eyed one) and 3 Panda cories with my Rams. She didn't mean to maim him I don't think, Rams are described as peaceful community fish but they are cichlids and as such are territorial. Cories share their territory so if they don't move out of the way quickly enough can be injured.

I have rams and cories in my tank. The only time i see the rams get agressive with the cories r when they're mating.

Abstract why do you act so sure. Every fish is an individual. Im just saying that it can happen. Im not saying it will. I wouldn't do it for the safety of my cory. I may not have experience with rams until today but i've had other cichlid's like oscars, convicts and parrots.
