Does anyone know how big the three-lined cory (Corydoras trilineatus) has to be before it is sexually mature and once they are sexually mature is this when you can tell weather they are male or female???
most of the cories seem to be about 8 - 10 months old before they are sexually mature and the females are quite a lot bigger (when they are mature) than the males - couldn't find the three lined cory in my book but all the rest (except the pygmies) had that info in common
These corys grow to be about 2" in length and will probably not be mature enough to breed until they are approaching that size. Of course the female will be bigger than the male.
You may find that under the right conditions they will breed while a bit younger, but if you do not wait until they are mature you will not get many eggs.
It is always a good idea to be patient with fish and other living things.
